B and W

THis were shots for the black and white section of class. I really enjoyed noticing light and shadows more than I usually do.

I think I like this one in color better.

I wanted a good dark/light contrast shot so I darkened this one a touch and wanted to isolate the light on her arm. This is the back of our couch.

I caught Anna watching television and the light from the window was perfect.

THese are photos of different focus points and different apertures.

These were shots I did while practicing metering manually on the fly. I just tried to grab the shots and meter it correctly as fast as I could.

here are some shots with a very open and very small aperture.

more messing around with aperture.

photography classes

I have started some classes and I have to say that I have never felt so stupid in my life. But I am happy to say that I am learning. I thought I would share the fun. here I am practicing changing focus with my aperture

this was a slow shutter speed expeiment. I was just trying to get some blur and motion. I was kind of hoping for it to look like a painting.

Eric was my assistant on this slow shutter experiment. He drew the wings with a flashlight in the dark and I flipped on the lights at the last moment. I didn't have a tripod but we got pretty good reults.

Here is where we did some painting with light. We took these in the dark and a helper painted them with a flash light and then they changed places to be painted again.

this one is me plaiying with moving the camera while taking the picture.
more painting with light. Eric was my helper and painted spiderman with the flashlight after setting him up for each pose in the dark.

This is a ghost of Jabba the Hut using a slow shutter speed. I wanted to do it against something with some texture. It turned out way too dark but I did get a good ghost
I was trying to freeze water here. A little dark and not too frozen

Here I was trying to make the water soft by slowing down the shutter speed. Most of these shots are really randon because I have so little time in a day to take them and I just grab what I can.
