I made this skirt last summer. I have since sworn off patterns and am now making things freehand, which is much less stressful for my non existent left brain. It did turn our like I imagined. I searched high and low for Houndstooth fabric and finally found it in the upholstery section. Now that fall is here, hounds tooth is everywhere of course. Anyway, I imagined it with a black blouse, orange sweater vest and orange shoes. I thought it was really striking together. I am going to add some antique lace applique's to the front stomach area. I hope it gives it a bit of a french look and softens the sharp houndstooth print. What do you think? It's not ironed here, but you get the idea.
