Garden Gnome

I have been a garden gnome for the last week and now we have a lovely garden to enjoy for the summer. Green onions, radishes, cucumbers, snap peas, Zuchinni and a blackberry bush.

I laminated the seed packets this year to label the garden. So far they are holding their ground.
Hopefully we will enjoy a fruitful havest.

He said, She said

SHE SAID: Let's go to down town Seattle this weekend. We'll just find something to do.
But really we went to the Moore Theatre and saw The Seattle Rock Orchestra's production of David Bowies glam era. It was seriously cool. They had guest singers and the symphony rocked with the band. Also the bowie era costumes were pretty cool.

HE SAID: Let's go see Clash of the titans at the Imax in seattle
but really he had box tickets to the Muse concert

The stage was one of the coolest I've seen and probably one of the loudest concerts I've been too. His voice was amazing too. Thanks E, I love you.

homemade goodess

Aunt Liz made this cute Kitty for Anna for Christmas and we just wanted to say an official Thank you. Anna loves cats and she really adores this one. She also wears the army purse that Liz made and stitched her name onto. She wears it across her chest just like I do whenever we go tot the store and she loads it up with all her favorite little trinkets to help keep her busy. We have lovede both the gifts and just wanted you to know how much we appreciated them. Hope all is well is Hawaii!

The Bird and the Bee

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMy6X5cQul8
I haven't been able to get this song out of my head for about 3 months now. I love the feel of this band. One can almost smell the dust on the taxidermy and the musty smell of vintage clothes in this video. THere's a real estate ad at the beginning BTW.
here's the links to a few other video's that I like by The Bird and the Bee

Belated Thank you's

We were truly spoiled by all our family members this year and I hope to thank them all in this fashion. So, Thank you to Peter and Brooke across the ocean, who worked hard I am sure to get our gifts to us in time. The Jammies are adorable and I can't get enough of Liam's bum in them. When one of them puts their monkey jammies on, the other has to change so they can match.
Also, a heartfelt thanks for these fabulous books. Liam and I have already been through them several times. They are magical and I love seeing Liam's eyes drift far away while I read to him. Gifts I hope to keep in the family for along time. I raise my glass to you both.
Alice succumbs to to the enticing words on the bottle.
Off with her head. I love this one
This one is awesome. the books have all sorts of little mini pages and hidden treasures within each page. You are now looking down the rabbit hole at Alice on the floor. An accordian of sorts lifts from the page and a small peephole at the top asks you to look inside.
The photograph made this picture look flat but it's really cool in real life.
This shipe has all sorts of details around it that I couldn't get. But it's great.

Homemade for the Holiday

So I bought the game Brutal Legend for Eric (which is totally fun to play and hilarious BTW)
But he needed to look the part too. So I made him some vinyl garb to enter into the ROck and roll beasts lair with.
I cut the white vinyl and stitched them up by hand and stuffed them with kleenex because I had no time to get stuffing. I super glued them on and they haven't fallen off yet.
Anna loves to play at her little kitchen set and is always making us drinks and food. I found this adorable pattern and material on Etsy and made this little cupcake apron for her. I love the pocket and the chef hat is adjustable too. I was so happy to see that she loved it.

Neighborhood gifts

I have such fond Christmas memories of tying our laborador up to the tabaggon (aquired in alaska) and being pulled throughout the whole neighborhood delivering whole pineapples with a red ribbon. As an adult the whole pineapple gift makes no sense, but as a child, it was what you did at Christmas time. I try to follow my Mothers lead and share some holiday spirit with my neighbors now too. This year I made an apple lemon coffee cake. Soft creamy and lemony cream cheese in the center with a sugar and cinnamon laden crust and apples with pecans on top. Add a glass of hot chocolate and you have a perfect Christmas breakfast.

Candy Corn Cookies

Every year I make a little something for the neighbors for all the holidays. This year, for Halloween I made these Sugar cookies. I made the dough and separated it into 3 piles. I added melted chocolate chips to one, pumpkin to another and layered all 3 in a loaf pan. After getting firm in the fridge I sliced an 1/4 inch slice and cut triangle shapes and baked. THe kids had a blast helping and eating the dough. I stuck them in cute mini bags and we delivered them.

Going batty

I'm going batty for this dress. It's the perfect october get up. OF course it doesn't have the prefect price.

Act your age

Alright, I'll admit it. I can't and shouldn't buy clothes at stores like Urban Outfitters anymore. I need to dress more my age, which is 33 BTW. I've been hunting and it is so frusterating feeling in between the teen clothes and the "women" clothing. I have found a few things that I liked at Boden though. It still feels a little too old for me, maybe it's time to act my age.

I love this 60s inpired skirt and I love that it is orange.
I really like this print and I think it would look cute tucked in, bloused out with skinny jeans and black boots.
I just like all the color and print really.
I still really dig black and mustard yellow. I really want a yellow skirt this year.
Age appropriate, am I right? I like the pop of color with the belt.
Everyone needs a coat for fall. I love the bright buttons on this one.

Etsy projects

I love these blocks. It would be so fun to find the prints to cover them. I love the old ticket stub on the bottom picture.
