Liam's Pirate quilt has been a work in progress for quite some time. It still has pins in it but I am almost done. I didn't want to tie it so that it kept it's modern look. yes, I always do things the hard way. so I am sewing X's in all the corners of the squares. Seems to be working out so far.
The Skull was incredibly intricate. Eric drew the Skull and I cut it out, laid it out on the unsewn squares, cut the paper pattern into pieces to fit each square and then added a few inches to each pattern piece to make up for inches lost in sewing it all together. WHew! I cut out the material from the pattern and machine sewed it onto the quilt. I didn't mind if edges didn't match perfectly because I wanted it to look a little home, well, Pirate made.
