Ship Ahoy! I love this lamp! I treally turned out the way I imagined. We found the Barrel lamp at the D.I and bought the shade for some cheap sum. Eric drew the image of the ship and I cut it out of blue poster board and we modge podged it inside the lamp.
I sewed the curtains and I have to say that I have made a few curtains and these are not the best in quality. I used a shade backing and I've never sewn with those before. There is alittle extra material sagging at the bottom and the tabs aren't all exactly the right length so they hang just a tad crooked. I whipstitched the anchors on by hand and I really like the overall look of them. Just don't look too closely.
