The cups are just covered in paper. I cut up a cup and used it as a template. Then I cut out ears and tails that I curled with a pencil. We had a pineapple pinia colada smoothie to go with the banana cake. 21/2 C frozen pineapple, 11/2 C coconut ice cream (Dreyers), and 2 C milk
This was Anna's party hat. When I finished I laughed out loud because I thought it looked like it should be named Shaniqua or Latifa the African monkey queen.
I made the masks out of a stiff felt. Thank goodness for exacto knives. I should've made them smile a bit more. They're a bit sad looking.
The banana Chandelier. Just drew some bananas on paper. Liam drew the details in brown. I had brown felt circles left from the eyes of the masks, so I used those with left over ribbon as well. I cut a ring out of cardboard and used a hole punch to hang everything.
Eric, the sweetest man on earth, made the poster for our pin the tail on the monkey game. It's adorable of course.
It was so fun making it. It's been the whole winter long that I haven't done anything particularly crafty. I forget how fulfilling it is. I need to make more time for it in my busy life.
